The Jews are not promoting brain washing the children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of Jews and other non Muslims.

A well-known attorney and Harvard Law School professor says the publication of a controversial new paper on the U.S. relationship with Israel has resulted in an attack on the American Jewish community.

The essay by John Mearsheimer of the University of Chicago and Stephen Walt, dean of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, is called "The Israel Lobby." Among other things, the essay accuses Israel of ethnic cleansing of Palestinians and claims American foreign policy in the Middle East is dangerously influenced by a powerful lobby of American Jews and supporters of Israel.

Professor Alan Dershowitz of the Harvard Law School, a well-known lawyer and author of the book ''The Case for Israel" (John Wiley & Sons, 2003), has written a 40-page critique of "The Israel Lobby." He says Mearsheimer and Walt's essay contains shoddy logic and numerous factual inaccuracies and omissions, and that it also takes certain quotes out of context.

Also, Dershowitz contends, the paper's two authors "borrow so many of their quotes and their arguments from hate sites -- from Neo-Nazi hate sites, from radical left hate sites, from Islamic extremist hate sites -- that you wonder what would motivate people to put together this assortment of recycled garbage. It just is shocking to me."

According to the celebrated attorney and legal scholar, Mearsheimer and Walt had credibility before they wrote this piece, but they have since lost it. The two essay writers have withheld comment on their paper. Ironically, Dershowitz asserts, the authors of "The Israel Lobby" claim supporters of the Jewish State "don't want open debate on issues involving Israel," yet the professors will not even debate their own essay in print.

"I've challenged them at their own schools," the Harvard Law professor notes, "at the Kennedy School, at the University of Chicago, [to] debate me, look me in the eye, tell me that because I am a proud Jew who is a critical supporter of Israel -- and I'm often critical of particular Israeli policies, as anybody should be free to be -- that because of that I'm a disloyal American or I have dual loyalty."

But his invitations to discuss the ideas posited in "The Israel Lobby" have been in vain, Dershowitz says. "They won't debate me." Nevertheless, he insists, "I'm going to debate them, by the way. I'm going to have a debate, either at the Kennedy School or the Law School, and there'll be two empty chairs."

Professor Dershowitz says the people praising "The Israel Lobby" the loudest are the "Neo-Nazis on the extreme, hard right and the haters on the hard left." Besides accusing Israel of ethnic cleansing and making other controversial assertions, the essay by Mearsheimer and Walt argues that supporting the Jewish State is against America's best interests.

The Error of Replacement Theology

...The head of a pro-Israel ministry says she believes there is a reason why President Bush and many in his administration don't have a problem with continually forcing Israel to give up its covenant land.

Jan Markell is founder and director of Minnesota-based Olive Tree Ministries. Markell shares the frustration of many Evangelicals who love Israel and oppose the president's support of a Palestinian state.

She says it is a theological problem. "He is the product of replacement theology churches all of his life [and the teaching] that the Church is the new Israel and that literal, physical Israel has no relevance whatsoever anymore," she asserts.

According to Markell, Bush advisors like Karen Hughes, Andrew Card, and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are proponents of replacement theology as well. So someone else, she says, needs to educate the president.

"He and his advisors do not see the biblical significance of Israel today," Markell says. "There are many trying to get the message to him, but he's got 60 years of false teaching into his head, so it's kind of hard to get it out."

The Olive Tree Ministries founder is convinced the United States faces serious spiritual consequences if its national leaders continue to follow replacement theology.

Victory of the Kadima party

...With the lowest voter turnout in Israel's history, Ehud Olmert's Kadima party claimed victory in yesterday's election.

In claiming victory, Olmert said if necessary, he will act on his own to withdraw Israelis from much of the West Bank and set the nation's borders by 2010, effectively allowing the Palestinians to have a state.

The founder and director of Minnesota-based Olive Tree Ministries says she believes so many people in Israel were tired {TIRED???? Then give over the reins to the young BEFORE losing everything.....THEY will continue the fight for the right of the nation's existence. Don't sell them and their futures away because you are TIRED!!!!! That's just cowardice.} of the endless terrorist attacks in Israel that they were willing to elect an appeasement government.

Jan Markell, whose group is dedicated to a safe and secure Israel, says she is not surprised that the centrist Kadima party was the top vote-getter, with the liberal Labor party finishing second. "These are the very parties that have sworn to tear down fortifications, homes, communities, and a lot more that have stood for decades since the Six-Day War [in June 1967], in a sense protecting Israel," Markell says.

"But the leadership of these parties will be giving away -- if they hold to what they have been saying -- massive amounts of land." She fears that the election results have sent a message that the Israeli people are willing to give up even more of their covenant land to appease the Palestinians.

"The Israelis seem to be deluded that we can still give peace a chance. Now this is after they've observed the abysmal results of the Gaza disengagement, and it will be repeated -- except this time with tens of thousands more Israelis -- and [after] the fact that Gaza has turned into a Taliban-style state," she observes.

"None of this seems to matter because [in their minds] there is still the hope that we just might be able to have peace if we just do this and give up this."

Markell believes no matter how much land the Israelis are willing to give up, the Palestinians will never be satisfied until the Jewish nation is completely removed from the map.

The once strong Likud party, headed by Binyamin Netanyahu, finished with a poor showing in the elections.

New Israeli Prime Minister!

...A Middle East observer is welcoming the news that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is stepping down as leader of his political party, a move that will force new elections in the nation of Israel. Columnist and talk show host Don Feder welcomes the news of Sharon's decision to resign his leadership post.

"I think it's a great idea," Feder says. "I think philosophically Ariel Sharon doesn't belong in the Likud Party any longer -- he's no longer a nationalist." The Israeli official has continually bowed to outside pressures, the columnist contends, and he says the Israeli leader is "willing, as he's demonstrated, to compromise Israel's security interests in the cause of international relations or keeping the Bush administration happy."

Feder believes Sharon's resignation will strengthen the Likud Party and offer the people of Israel an alternative in dealing with the Palestinians. {That last horrible deal "brokered" by Condaleeza Rice should be aborted for the horrible idea it always was......}

'Pandering' to Palestine

Esther Levens, founder and CEO of the Unity Coalition for Israel, says the recent Palestinian-Israeli "agreement" brokered by Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is nothing but more appeasement of terrorists at Israel's expense. It is reminiscent of the way Adolph Hitler was appeased by the Western powers leading up to the Second World War.

The Bush administration would never concede U.S. territory to al-Qaeda, Levens asserts, yet she says the U.S. government appears perfectly willing to make Israel sacrifice its territory and security to the Palestinians.

America is not giving its terrorist enemies New York, Levens says, "because they killed 3,000 people there." It would be a farce even to consider such a thing, she adds, "and yet we pressure Israel to do what we would never do."

The bigger question is: Why Israel are you LISTENING TO A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT IN THE FIRST PLACE? It is YOUR land. It is YOUR nation. It is YOUR very survival.

The Betrayal of Israel

Author Dave Hunt says the United States has betrayed Israel in a major way over the past century. This betrayal, he says, involves far more than just urging the Jewish state to give portions of its land to the Arabs.

In his new book 'Judgment Day: Israel, Islam and the Nations', author Dave Hunt argues that the U.S. has the blood of Holocaust victims on its hands. In 1938, he says, President Franklin D. Roosevelt stated at a meeting in Evian, France, that America would do nothing about Adolf Hitler's plan to exterminate 11 million Jews he had marked out in eastern and western Europe. The author also documents that in 1944 the German dictator offered 500,000 Hungarian Jews for two dollars apiece, but Roosevelt and the State Department refused to take them in.

{It has always been my belief that God used the hubris of the Japanese empire to bomb Pearl Harbor. It was His way to insure a remnant of His people would survive. Without the United States getting involved, no Jew would have survived~~Hitler's killing machine was that efficient. Perhaps if America had taken the opportunities presented in 1938, Pearl Harbor could have been avoided.}

Hunt says in 1973 -- just before the Yom Kippur War -- the U.S. knew an Israeli "Pearl Harbor" was coming, yet did nothing, fearing it would upset the Arabs.

Hunt contends that because of these and many other betrayals of God's chosen people, the Jews, the U.S. is heading for a horrible judgment at Armageddon. He claims that at that apocalyptic battle God will destroy the nations of the world for accepting "the Arab lie" that Israel is occupying the Palestinians' land. {We deserve it. I pray my government will wake up and change their stance. But with people like Sec. of State Rice, and now President Bush, I just don't see that happening.}

He says it is unfortunate that America's alliance with the Jewish nation is not out of conviction or in obedience to God and to His Word -- "even though we claim to have Christians in high office." {Just because you can talk the talk doesn't make you a Christian. It requires walking that walk as well. Or for more secularly inclined people: putting your money where your mouth is.}

No More Concessions

Esther Levens, the founder of a coalition of Christian and Jewish organizations (Unity Coalition for Israel) dedicated to a safe and secure Israel says she cannot understand why the United States has once again forced the Jewish state to cave in to the demands of Islamic terrorists. {I don't understand why Israel agrees to it. Reminds me of the little kid who gives away all his best toys in the hopes that the other kids will then like him. Only it never happens. Instead, they scorn him. Israel must stop giving away their land and making concessions. It is not bringing them respect or tolerance~~only more hatred and scorn.}

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice(?Is she Muslim?) is hailing this week's agreement between Israel and the Palestinians as a big step forward to independence for the Palestinians. Among other things, the agreement gives the Palestinians direct access to Egypt through Gaza, bus convoys through Israeli territory between Gaza and the West Bank, and a seaport in Gaza.

"I don't understand the need to pressure Israel, unless it's just to make concessions to look good in the Arab world," she offers. "And it isn't the Israelis that are creating the terrorism; it is coming from radical Islam. How can we forget that? I mean, we're our own worst enemy here." {The current Israeli leaders ARE selling out Israel. No doubt, during WWII they would have informed on their fellow Jews to glean some comforts for themselves.}

Levens sees some contradiction in White House policy. {YES} "[The president is] losing the moral argument against Iraq when he's helping the terrorists in Gaza," she says. Consequently, she feels the president's followers are "increasingly disappointed with him." {YES AGAIN}

Archaeologists Unveil Ancient Church Site

This ancient church is found IN ISRAEL. It is too soon yet to state if it is the oldest church in the world yet. {But I wouldn't be surprised~~in recent years God has allowed a great deal of evidence to be discovered.}

Part of the discovery included mosaics; one of which had the Christian fish symbol on it

Interestingly, the Israel Antiquities Authority says this church's location, in the town of Megiddo, is very near where the future battle between good and evil takes place as recorded in the book of Revelation.

During this particular time period, according to Stephen Pfann, worshippers met in secrecy due to persecution. {I was taught the fish symbol was a way for believers to recognize each other. One would draw half of the fish and if the other person was a believer he knew to draw the other half. Then they could talk as brothers in Christ; otherwise, it was just doodling in the sand and prevented that persecution. So, it would make sense that a church existing during a time period of persecution would have the fish symbol in it. }

The archaelogists believe they may have discovered a baptismal site here as well {which would be significant since Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist thus setting the standard for all believers to follow.}

One anthropologist has already questioned the dating of this find. {There is ALWAYS someone who just cannot believe....... }

Joe Zias states that there is no evidence of churches before the fourth century.

{This would be correct UNTIL the first one IS found.

With such compelling finds already uncovered, I believe the evidence will prove conclusive.

And it is IN ISRAEL, the nation of God's Chosen People! What more proof is needed?????}

Abbas or the Abyss?

I fear Bush and Condoleezza Rice, and everyone else in our government sees Mahmoud Abbas as the "savior" of the middle east. When in fact, this man is a wolf in sheep's clothes. He has NO intention of stopping the violence.

"The Bush team's approach to the Israel-Arab conflict has boiled down to a simple prayer that somehow Mahmoud Abbas can transform Palestinian politics and culture from one of terrorism and war to one of peace.

Which is why the Republican party could be in danger of losing the support of Christian evangelicals who support Israel. While Bush cannot be re-elected, he should be taking the 'long-view' in regards to his party.

As for Condoleezza Rice running for president~~no true evangelical should vote for her. She is Anti-Semitic; a Jew hater; and has thrown her support to murderers. This woman does NOT speak for me.....

...Despite Israel's ongoing land concessions, Palestinian terrorists are continuing to kill Jews inside the borders of Israel, and one pro-family advocate feels the media is largely ignoring the situation.

{What else is new? Mainstream media is so obviously pro-palestinian~~when they should be pro- nothing~~they should be non-biased, simply reporting “the FACTS” and nothing more!}

Campaign for Working Families director Gary Bauer feels it is odd that the liberal media seem not to care about Palestinian terrorist acts. "The attack against Israeli young people is, of course, disgusting, obscene, outrageous," he says. And yet, he observes, "It's getting virtually no attention in the mainstream media." Meanwhile, although the Israeli pullout of Gaza and portions of the West Bank was supposed to encourage peace, the Campaign for Working Families spokesman maintains it has not helped to stem the tide of Palestinian violence.

"It never, never pays to make concessions to terrorists," Bauer says.

Actually, You could paraphrase your own statement: 'kick those Jews off of their land, kill them and humiliate them... take their resources, take their wealth, and take their dignity.'

Rebuttal: No, the "Testament"; which I assume you to mean the Bible; has taught us that the land of Israel belongs to Israel. It is Israel's land, wealth and resources that are desired.

God had other plans and blessings planned for the descendants of Ishmael.

Genesis 16:10 "The angel added, 'I will give you more descendants than you can count." Genesis 21:13 "But I will make a nation of the descendants of Hagar's son because he also is your son." 21:18 "Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants."

Even though Sarah initially had so little faith and sent her servant Hagar in to Abraham to insure the birth of the son God had promised~~then grew jealous of this~~and Abraham failed to solve this problem~~God did not forget Ishmael in all this or his descendants!

Later one of Ishmael's daughters MARRIES Hebrew Esau. (Genesis Chapter 36)

Realistically, this is just one HUGE dysfunctional family. The Israelites and the Middle Eastern tribes are cousins. Same patriarch, different matriarchs.

What most evangelical Christians have a problem with is the Middle Eastern nations who desire to completely DESTROY Israel. It is their goal and has been for a very long time. We also have a problem with their desire for the entire world to worship "Allah".

As an evangelical, my hopes are for each to come to know the saving grace of Jesus. I will witness when given the opportunity. Here is the difference: While I will be sad if your choice is denial, I'm not going to call for your death if you choose not to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

When you reject Allah, Islam is NOT this forgiving.

The Land Dispute:

Israel by comparison to all her neighbors is a very small land mass. They are not greedy~~unlike those neighbors who want even that little bit of land.

(Israel is in red on the above map.) Their land mass is .1% of the total or about 8000 square miles; whereas, the surrounding 22 Arab countries are 640 times larger than tiny Israel yet they expect Israel to turn over all the West Bank, Gaza Strip, the Golan Heights and half of Jerusalem... territory they lost after they started the 1967 war! Palestine/Palestinians~~not a "real" people or land. They are displaced Jordanians, Syrians, and other Arabs. The only reason the Middle Eastern countries even acknowledge these people is because it helps their cause of grabbing the land. Otherwise, they could CARE less about the Palestinians~~if they truly did care, any or all of these nations could give a few miles of their country to give these people their own homeland.

Finally, my dictionary defines

sarcasm-- a taunting, sneering, cutting, or caustic remark; gibe or jeer, generally ironical.

sarcastic--implies intent to hurt by taunting with mocking ridicule, veiled sneers, ect.

Both I find to be the impediment to honest discourse.

Yes, on occassion, being HUMAN, I too can feel the urge to be sarcastic. I do try however to use it minimally as it really serves VERY LITTLE purpose.

The wound grows larger, wider, deeper. The Israeli government has now demanded that each expelled family pay 150 shekels per day for living in a hotel room. Considering that we have no income, nor any home to return to, it is quite a chunk of money to be deducted from our compensation package. Indeed, absolutely no money has been paid to the vast majority of expellees. We are dependent on the kindness of donors even for pocket money.

“Ah,” says the government, “but 900 families have received keys to caravillas (caravans made to look like villas). You just don’t want to leave the hotel. That’s why we’re fining you.”

“But we do want to leave,” we reply. “We want our own homes. Our own kitchen table. Where are the caravillas?”

“They aren’t built yet. We’re working on them.”

“So even the few of us who have received keys have no doors in which to put them...”

“True, but we’re telling the media you just want to enjoy the hotels.”

“Where is the money you promised us so we can maintain our dignity until the final compensation is worked out?”

“We gave you half a million dollars when you were forcibly removed from Gush Katif.”

“But we never received any money...”

“Doesn’t matter. We are telling the media you are choking on all the money we’ve given you. We have the best public relations firms working for us, and collaborators throughout the press. And today people believe what we say. Our message is repeated over and over in all the media. Whom do you think the world believes, the government of Israel or... the settlers?”

“Why are you doing this to us? No homes, no money, no jobs, and dependent on the charity of others. And even forced to continue paying mortgages on the homes you destroyed.”

They won’t give us any trouble when they get their eviction notices. They’re watching how we squeeze you and make you suffer. They won’t want to be in your shoes. They’ll sell out quickly enough. “We may be the example of people you have expelled but we have retained our self-respect despite your best efforts.”

“But we are working overtime at breaking you, depriving you of your dignity. We signed an agreement to give the people of Kfar Darom an apartment building in Ashkelon so they could stay together. But we reneged.”

“Why?”

“We can do with you as we wish. We can make you disappear. We have the power to do so. You witnessed our power first hand. Anyway, elections are on the horizon and Gush Katif must be forgotten – and soon. That’s why we torment and humiliate you. So you’ll give up and just go away.”

“We will not go away. We are a community and will remain a community. We are a symbol to the world. Our strength lies in our belief in our country, our people, our Torah. Through us Eretz Yisrael will remain strong despite your efforts to weaken it. The love of the people that we inspire will overcome your power. The gaping wound that you have created in Israel’s society will heal only through our strength and belief. We will be the healers and we will not be forgotten and you will not be forgiven.”

Rabbi Eckstein, Founder and President of International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, writes about the Stand for Israel Washington Briefing that is starting September 27th. During this event they will honor two Americans who have shown their support of Israel over the years.

Senator Joseph Lieberman sponsored the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995, an effort to get the U.S. to recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capitol of Israel and during his vice-presidential bid and his run for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, he pushed the issue of U.S. support for Israel to the forefront, insisting it be at the heart of U.S. foreign policy. (I say, AMEN!)

Also to be honored is Rudolph Giuliani for the strength of his commitment to Israel which can best be summed up by his response to a Saudi Arabian prince who offered a relief check of $10 million to New York City following the September 11th attacks. When the prince suggested that the attacks should make the U.S. rethink its commitment to Israel, Giuliani refused the money, accusing the prince of “not understanding the difference between liberal democracies like the United States, like Israel, and terrorist states …”

I am writing to urge you to support S.J. Resolution 14 calling for the U.S. government to recognize Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel by moving its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Jerusalem has been the capital of the Jewish people for 3,000 years and is now the capital of the modern state of Israel, yet the U.S., along with most other nations, does not recognize it as such. This denies Israel the right to designate its own capital city -- a freedom enjoyed by every other nation on earth.

It is in everyone's best interest to keep Jerusalem undivided and under Israeli rule. Unlike her neighbors, Israel guarantees freedom of religion for all -- access to Jerusalem's holy sites for Jews, Christians and Muslims alike would be secure only under Israeli control.

Many resolutions and bills in the past have supported the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital. The Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 stated that "the United States Embassy in Israel should be established in Jerusalem no later than May 31, 1999" -- yet the U.S. embassy is still in Tel Aviv.

Jerusalem Accords

Believing it to be a pillar of both the Jewish and Christian faiths that the Land of Israel and its eternal capital, Jerusalem, are the inheritance of the Jewish people forever, and wishing to take concrete steps to support this just and righteous truth, we pledge to petition our government to take the following three steps on behalf of Israel and the cause of peace in the Middle East and the world.

1. In accordance with the provisions of the Jerusalem Embassy Act of 1995 enacted by the U.S. Congress, build a new embassy in Jerusalem within two years, in acknowledgment of the eternal truth that an undivided Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, the homeland of the Jewish people.

2. Vigorously work for the resettlement of the Palestinian refugees to the lands of their Arab kinsmen in order to rescue them from the purgatory of refugee status and restore to them the hope of a better future.

3. Demand the Palestinian Authority disarm the terrorists in their midst, and halt all violence, propaganda, and incitement against the people of Israel, failing which the Oslo Agreements shall be null and void.

We hereby agree and declare that the Land of Israel is promised by God to the Jewish people. We oppose any policy that fails to take God’s word into account and attempts to separate the Jewish people from the Land of Israel. We believe such policies will serve only to hinder the establishment of a just and lasting peace between the people of Israel and the Arab nations.
